Thanks Allan.I know he must go where there is work.A few exams he did pass with distinction.I think it helps that his dad is a electrician and his dads forebearers were all electricians. Its just that Australia seems so far away when he is not a good diabetic.Been diabetic since he was 4 and now fed up with it and a long way to go for family if he is ill. lol Annie |

That's such good news, Annie. Congrats to your grandson. Tell him not to go to Australia - electricians are like golddust here. Doesn't live near me, does he, by any chance? (Sussex) x |

Yes it is a terrible situation for the young ones, he needs to write to as many companies as possible.......also if he his not too fed up with course work there are opportunities to further his electrical experiences and get a few more qualifications under his belt, and if he is lucky enough to get with a company there is a chance they will pay towards the courses. |

Congrats to your grandson & proud Gran! My son is also an electrician and he once thought of going further afield, but I am happy to say changed his mind! |

My eldest grandson (the diabetic one) qualified as a electrician today. The only downer now is he is thinking of going to Australia for work. Just hope he can find a job in this country.Fingers and everything crossed. Annie |
