BIG thinking caps needed here folks. Have come across in the 1881 census an ancestors occupation described as, Teacher (Schte) does anyone know what the Schte stands for please.

Unless it is scholar teacher, I have seen pupil teacher when it was a younger person . What age is the ancestor?- j
