Wow, that was a good buy. What is so good about the iron to warrant that price though?

You'll love it the ease of use and results and wonder why all irons arent made this way.
Next youll want the ironing board that will let all the steam away.}}

I had a Teffal steam generator iron for 8yrs and it died so have been searching for a new iron.

The fantastic thing about these irons ,

they cut the time in half .

Kay
does the ironing board make a difference ?

Bobtanian Report 9 Feb 2011 13:47

in a dry cleaners they have an ironing table that has a vacuum effect,to draw the item to the board while it is steam ironed.

Bob

dunno if its feasible to have one indoors though......would be handy to hold the stuff down while you sort out the wrinkles,
now theres a thought,
now what did I do with that old vacuum cleaner.........off to rummage in the cupboard!!

just jesting really, a grass /leaf blower is a better bet..........

I keep seeing on here about buying on E-Bay but this Pay-Pal account or whatever it is frightens me.

Pay pal account is one of the safest ways to pay on E.bay.

Yes Quoy,

If you have an ironing board thats solid then the power of steam thats generated by the new irons just makes the clothes damp..the new mesh type ones the steam passes right though them and the results are so much better,no redoing where youve been as it acts like dry steam.

and the new ones you dont have to keep changing the thermo settings..

Ooh..
Tho I hate the ' I ' word I have a mesh board my dau brought back from when she was away at Uni so I'm some way to getting super duper new Steam generated gizzmo.
I hated throwing out my old solid board, but hers was newer and there was no point in having 2.
A relative has one of these gizzmo's and reckons it is marvellous.
Hubby's always looking on E.bay, has a Pay Pal acct and loves a bargain, so I'm getting closer and closer:))

How do you find your new bargain buy Quoy ?You say it cuts the time in half, are the results as good or better?

I can do a perfect man's shirt on average in 5mins with a steam ir*n,

Sandie.

Just remember, as with cooking , these steam irons also make the room damp, steamy windows etc. be sure to do it in a well ventilated area,

A friend had one and used to stand the ironing board on a towel as the steam condensed onto the frame and water dripped down the legs.

*$parkling $andie*

*$parkling $andie* Report 12 Feb 2011 00:01

Ooh , thanks for that Lindsey,

Hubby would be less than pleased if it caused more damp in the room.
We've just had the internal walls that are also exteriors walls re plastered because of dampness and condensation,( drying clothes indoors in the wet weather ) and had a ventilation system fitted costing over £500 ( would have been more but hubby fitted it himself )

I iron as little as possible , I flatten things when they come off the clothes line..lol. I use a steam iron in the dining room normally and the patio windows steam up.
But I'd only heard the good side of these gizzmos, not about the extra dampness.
When I mentioned the price on e bay to hubby , who is a veteran of searching and buying on e.bay, he thought your Bargain may be a reconditioned or returned item with a fault repaired Quoy, especially as it only had a six months guarantee.
Don't wish to sound negative and I hope your Iron serves you well :)

Sandie.
