Strays cat bring in live mice
and delights as we run round like headless chickens squealing

she thinks its great game

That made me smile, our cat brings in mice and frogs but thankfully never a rat, or at least I have never found one!

It's bad enough when she lets the frog go and it hops everywhere, you try catching one of those ... lol

Oh yes,he has given us a mouse infestation in the past.I have even seen him catch a mouse downstairs and take it upstairs to let it go.Something to do with the gene pool and his specialized breeding programme I think.

He probably only catches pregnant mice anyway.I expect they move slower.

He gets to eat anything caught in the trap,which he now thinks is a food processor.

Not spoiled in any way at all of course!

Sharron, my cat used to kill the rats outside, thank goodness, it was the mice that she brought in and released live. But she no longer comes in and I do have occasional visits from a rat. I did catch a couple in traps but they have become wary now. I dare not put down poison as the cat might eat any sick or dead rats that are outside and get herself poisoned. You have my sympathy anyway.

I have just quickly edited my message because I had written a q without a u but I don't mind telling you my house is infested with rats!

Sharron it sounds horrific ! Glad dogs don't bring these gifts into the house! All in a days fun for you by the sound of it. xxx

You have a good cat there. Why do they always want to show you how clever they have been. The carers to be fair, were probably not used to what cats do and were shocked, possibly frightened.

Have had a very worried call from the supervisor at the care agency,again

Night before last,just before the carers were due to put the old man to bed,the cat came in with yet another live rat.

Well,I always find it easier to let him go to the bottom of the stairs,where he does what he does,and let him get on with it unhindered. That way I just have to shovel up the bit he saves for me.

Just after the cat,the carers came in.The rat was still squeaking so they had to have a look round the curtain to see what was going on and the cat was distracted and let go the rat.

The rat ran across the front room, much to the consternation of all. I left the front door open for a while and have seen and heard no more of it so hope it has escaped.Yes,I have looked.

By the time they had gone back to the office we were probably rat infested and the supervisor was worried as,should a rat bite my dad during the night,they would be i trouble.Well,so should I !

Neighbours have ducks and chickens and we have a bird table for my dad to look at,so we will have rats. The rat man has been and could not even give his bait away so I think I might see if I can get my cat a job on the council.It's about time he had a use.
