Night time weddings

My friend is a registrar and her 'patch' covers quite a large country area with widespread and varied venues.

I can see staffing problems if someone wants a midnight wedding and someone else an early morning one the following day.
. Double staff numbers might be needed.

My daughters have been to several evening functions to celebrate weddings held earlier in the day, which close family of the couple attended.
Working out who to invite to just one evening event might be a problem for some, ....but they would perhaps stick to present day timings, if that were the case.

My daughter got married at 3.30pm, then the reception flowed into the evening anyway.
Don't think I would have wanted to marry at night, but I can see advantages for 'venue' weddings.

This might be a great help in cutting down the expenses (though perhaps the registrar will need overtime). Most daytime weddings with more than a very few guests involve a reception afterwards, probably with a meal, and entertainment again in the evening. Having an evening ceremony will probably involve only one party session.

(Back in the history books when I was married - all that was required then in the evening was for the best man to arrange an outing for the bridesmaids)

There is a possibility of talks to extend the hours when it is possible to marry.

Would you want to / have liked to get married at night?
