I have not done much on my tree for a while, feeling that I need to 'get out there' rather than keep going over the same old ground online and getting nothing new.

But this afternoon I decided I would look at at one of my hurdles.
A few clicks and there was the marriage record of my 3xg grandfather - I just sat looking at it with a big smile on my face.

I cannot even guess how many hours I have searched for it before.
Doesn't take much to make us happy!!

Lyndi, you're so right.
I have been searching for my great uncles birth and death for a year now without success.
I know I'll be smiling when I do find it.

Know what you mean. I found my gtx3 grandfather s marriage in the parish records yesterday and I have been looking for years. The marriage record on my gt x2 grandfather had a smudge on the first name of the witness and I couldn't make the name out but the surname had been written in a distinctive way. By finding this record yesteday which was a marriage in 1804 I was able to compare the signature and prove that he had been the witness in 1829 at his sons marriage.
....as you say, it doesn't take much to make us happy- lol- jl
