The government has just confirmed they're totally scrapping the forest sell-off.The phoney consultation has been cancelled. The sinister legal changes to pave the way for privatisation have been dropped.

We did this together. Next time someone tries to tell any of us that signing petitions or emailing our MPs doesn’t work, we’ll know exactly what to say:

“People power does work. Just look at the Save Our Forests campaign”.

Over half a million of us can feel very proud of what we've achieved together today.

Dear Mau

Hello

Hope you are keeoing well and doing okay.

At last some good news and especially happy that this outcome was achieved by ordinary folk.

Hats off to all those who campaigned.

This is brilliant news - but how much did the 'consultation' cost us, I wonder?
Oh - and Cameron is still having a 'consultation' panel concerning woodland.
Am I a total cynic in wondering who the 'boys'are who have these 'consultation' jobs -and how many MP's have fingers in the pies
(ie have something to do with the firms involved?

Well Maggie I'm just hoping that the Con/Debs have more Uturns in future.

It was so good though to actually have an Email from my MP and that he'd taken the time to answer.

Bay tree is good Wend......I'd love one for the leaves for cooking!

Mau :)))

It really does show that even if you can't go up to London to protest , or be able to march or have 'influence in high places' , the voice of the people can still be heard !

I was reminded of the 'Lorax' in an animation I remember from the '70s (I hadn't realised till now it was a Dr Seuss story) who says, as all the 'Truffula trees' are decimated, "I speak for the trees, for they cannot speak for themselves,"

well done to everyone who 'spoke for the trees' :))
