On Ancestry the UK Birth, Marriage & Death records finish at 2005. Does anyone know when (or if) this date is to be extended?

Modernisation of the civil registration system, including the digitisation of records of births marriages and deaths, has been under consideration for some time. Digitisation will enable registration records to be accessed online.
The Digitalisation of Vital Events (DoVE) Project started in 2005. In December 2007, it was hoped that the digitisation of records of births, marriages and deaths would be complete by August 2009 and that index data derived from the digitisation contract could be available for on-line access by the public by the end of 2009.
However, the DoVE Project was closed in July 2008, at which point the digitization of approximately 130 million records (around half the total) had been completed.>>>>>>>>>>

A new project, called the Digitisation and Indexing (D&I) Project, was initiated in 2009 and covers the digitisation of the records themselves together with indexing and upgrading the current online certificate ordering process.
The Identity and Passport Service (IPS), which now incorporates the General Register Office (GRO), has confirmed that, until such time as it is able to provide an online index, the GRO will continue to make a full set of the GRO indexes freely available in microfiche format at several libraries and record offices across England and Wales.
