The vows are important, signing the register (and all the legal stuff necessary for you to be married) is important. The rest is just window dressing.

I made my own dress on the barrack -room sewing machine, with the other girls to help me get the hem right, I still have it but bust is now a size bigger so cant get into it. Stepmother put on a spread in my stepsisters front room and a good time was had by all, Expenditure, £100., in 1955.

Three main words of advice

Delegate.....Delegate.......Delegate.

So what if it isn't 'perfect'? Come the day, you'll be floating on cloud nine, marrying the love of your life, and you won't notice any blemishes.

Have a beautiful day and a wonderful, fullfilled life together.

*$parkling $andie* Report 20 Feb 2011 20:37

I was totally laid back, til my bouquet arrived !!

Went out into dad's garden, after a glass of his best Brandy.lol and picked some forget me nots and some unknown named white flowers to boost my bouquet.
Sister, matron of honour was in a pale blue dress, similar style to mine, but mine had fussier sleeves....really loved hers, I chose it ,was the one I'd fancied in white for myself, but some of us only do it once,so added a bit of flounce with the sleeves.:)

Best wishes and don't worry , sure all be well:)

Sandie.

Lmao@Rose

I had a stress free one...got married in Vegas lol...so I'm the wrong person to answer this one.

Friends of mine were frantic in the build up to their weddings so I think it all sounds about normal judging from them.

Good luck. Hope it all runs smoothly for you x
