I had 2 chances, first time I was in St Petes & we watched it in our hotel on CNN, second time we couldn't justify the cost of tickets as storms were unpredictable.

It got put off twice when we were there, then went up during the early hours

I'm watching it now Elaine - very exciting although I'm glad I'm not in the Discovery. I'm not that adventurous. Good luck to the people on board - they are making history.

How amazing was that.
Thank you for the info.
Did you see some of the tiles fall off. How brave are those astronauts.

I'm sure it was a few hundred dollars for the four of us as this included transport.

I saw those tiles go, it was when the camera on the fuel tank was taking pictures as it went up.

I was expecting the commentator to say something, but he didn't.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration - NASA
At 1:15p ET, Discovery began a 9-minute Rendezvous Pitch Maneuver, or backflip. With Commander Steve Lindsey at the helm, Discovery is rotating 360 degrees backward for space station astronauts to take high resolution pictures of the shuttle’s heat shield. Lindsey then will fly the shuttle to a position about 310 feet directly in front of the station, allowing the station to catch up with it for docking at 2:16 p.m.

Florida is 5 hours behind the UK
