Just looking at the updated Message Board Guidelines on the new Announcements Board re abuse reporting:-

All material reported as abuse will be reviewed by a member of our customer service team and the report will either be upheld or disregarded. Genes Reunited’s decision is final.

Dependent on the severity of the abuse report, Members will receive a first warning telling them why their post has been removed and why they are receiving a warning.

Should a Member be reported a second time for abuse they will receive a final warning.

Upon a third report of abuse Members will be permanently banned from the Genes Reunited service.

So be on your best behaviour from now on.....!

It might make some people think twice about what they post.

In the past if you were reported for abuse, you could be suspended for a day, a week, a month but it does look like they have now tightened up.

About time too, some of the threads have been horrendous.

I agree, but they were 'allowed' to go on for far too long before they were finally deleted.

Hopefully this means they will actually read the threads and warn the right person, instead of just suspending people on the word of a WUM
There have been cases in the past of a person constantly reporting someone in a deliberate attempt to get them banned.
Childish,I know, but the act of a WUM

They have also said, re reporting abuse:-

"While we actively encourage Members to do this, anyone found to be misusing our Report as Abuse function will receive a warning."

So, hopefully any WUM's as you call them will be sussed out too.
