Now you have to go through it all again tomorrow lol

I remember when we found out what secondary school my daughter was allocated. The applications had to be in by October 22nd and it was around about this time we found out. She got into her first choice, which surprised me as the school is Catholic but she isn't. She left last year and is currently at college.

This is for 11 year old's starting secondary school. Choices had to be made last year, not sure exactly when but probably around last September./ October. Allocations are announced now.

Sixth Form schools and colleges are rather different.

Julie~~~

Didn't realize you had to choose so early in the yr.

My 2 are 22 and 24, and went to the local Junior Comp, there was a choice but the school had a good reputation and they would be with most of theirs friends from junior school

When they 'd passed their GCSE's, they had to move because the school didn't have a sixth form. They were old enough to make their own decisions, my dau, the eldest choose the school she would have naturally progressed to for our catchment area ( no application required)
Son chose to go to a different school.. the school that both hubby and I went to.
Both schools are good schools, I left the choice to them because I wanted them to be happy where they went to study.
It seemed to work OK as both graduated, unfortunately son hasn't got a full time job yet, only the part time on from when he was in Uni.

Hope you and your dau get the results you want :)

Yes, good luck to everybody waiting

Just read that locally, the no of first places allocated has dropped to 81% this year whereas the national average has risen slightly

Apparently our top rated school (traditional, strict, full uniform even in the sixth form, and with origins going back hundreds of years) had around 875 applications for just 150 places.

At the other end of the spectrum, one of the worst rated, an academy that was praised by Blair when it opened a few years back, will have spare places left unallocated....!

Says it all, doesn't it.
