Can't help Bridget sorry but try GR to see if they can find it.

I do hope you get it back as I know how it is when you do lose years of work ..I have lost mine partly twice once thro a virus and the worst was my hard drive packing up and me not having backed up my FTM for over 6mths.

Bridget,

It is rare for your GR tree to go missing - more often than not it is an access problem.

If you like I will have a look, if you are happy to grant me access for a short while. Send me a pm and let me know approx how many names you have.

Thank you to Uzzi and InspectorGreenPen. My computer also went down but we do get used to this being halfway up a mountain in Spain! It came on again just a few minutes ago!

I am delighted to say that everything is OK now but goodness me it was a fright. I have been trying to organise my files re family history to get everything into separate files.
Now I think I should find the best way to keep this document.
Once again thanks for your kind offers

Bridget do yourself a favour get a memory bar and keep your tree on that. I living on a campsite know how wifi can change ...even now my internet should be good it's a case of memory bar and back your tree.
Even with anybody else back your tree up do never rely on 1 site

Uzzi I do have a really good iomega which was bought for me so I could keep everything on it BUT being a bit dim at the moment i cannot work out how to save the tree to a external memory bar

Very simple instructions would be very welcome.
I have been very down again since this episode only a short time ago so hope that I start to feel better soon.
I feel so foolish.

I don't know if it helps at all but I have very slow internet access and I find some days I can not get my tree to show on here for ages. It seems to be when the site is likely to be very busy, and I can get the tree later in the day. It is annoying though when I've paid to work on the tree (eg membership) and can't get at it !! It's not just slow it's not showing at all but I can gain access to chat etc when this happens so it's not just my computer.
