Spring is sprung!!

Those who know me,know that I always put out lots of food for stray cats, foxes, badgers ect.

Two nights ago my hedgehogs came for a good feed, out of hibernation, they were very hungry and ate all the food in sight.

This must mean that nature knows that spring is officially here.

Lots of love to all, Nina in Sheffield.

Hello Nina long time no see ...how is my favourite city and village.

Did you ever get round to telling Jeannie Hi from me ?

Annina

Annina Report 3 Mar 2011 18:42

Hi Uzzi,Shefffield is still, well,Sheffield, and Ridgeway looks smaller every time we drive through.

I havn't seen Jeannie personally for yonks, she had a tin hip fitted before Christmas, and is recovering well, will pass on your regards when I see her.

Trouble is,we only seem to see family at funerals these days, and the Cranfields never attend for some reason.

By the way,I read your thread about your mother,I didn't realise that my mam had a twin, they sound like clones of each other.

Enjoy your spring,Nina in freezing Sheffield.

Does it count for the first sign of spring when the snow drift gets below 5 feet ? !! Lots of snow left in many palces in Canada =0)

Hi Elaine Yes I know Mazzeron it's about a hours drive over the mountains from me I'm near La Manga Strip. I also know Rotherham as I was born in Ridgeway ..if you ever visit you'll have to pop over !

Oh and it's pelting down here with thunder all night *groans*

Uzzie do you mean Ridgeway in Rotherham? If so I spent many happy hours in the woods near there with a dog I hasten to add. Does the name Hickey mean anything to you, there was this gorgeous lad who lived on Ridgeway I really fell for him. I was about 8 at the time lol. My friend Janet lives the Mazarron side of the mountains and on their propery they have kennels for the use of rescue dogs, I was out there last January but don't know if I'll get there this year. When she first bought the land Mazarron was a small fishing village gosh has it grown. If I do get out I'll let you know and we can have a meet, it would be great. Elaine. By the way I was born in Eastwood and went to Spurley Hey school.

Must appologise Annina for pinching your thread but Ive had a feeling for some time that Uzzie may live near my friend, they live about the same distance from each other as we do, I'm in West Melton about 11 miles from Sheffield. Must go to bed as I have to be up early in the morning. Going to see University Of Nottingham with my grandson.Elaine.

Hi Elaine ~~~~~ to Nina also

A dog rescue in Mazarron mmmm is that JJ's puppy rescue ? used to be linked with Noah's A.R.C. if so I have probably met your friends several times in different places .. and yes Mazarron has grown, mind I haven't been over the mountains for a few years now

I mean Ridgeway the village by Eckington. I managed a year in Westfield school before we moved to Gloucestershire.

Pinch my thread all you like,if I can spark a good old natter, perhaps it will liven up the boards.

I also used to live in Eckington Ridgeway, one day two ladies got off the bus and asked me where the Crematorium was. When I told them that there was no Ridgeway Crem, they were most disconcerted.

It was years later that I realised that it was Ridgeway Crem in Rotherham that they probably wanted. I wonder whether they ever managed to arrive in time for the send off.

lol @ Nina. I have to own up to forgetting about the Ridgeway at Rotherham well once you live in the Village there is only ONE Ridgeway to us.

Uzzi, My friend janet used to work in the JJs puppies shop in Mazarron but the dogs she has are from Noahs Ark I believe and she does a stint in their shop. It breaks my heart when I go, I could bring one or two home every time I'm out there, some of the stories are so sad. Janets surname is Shaw. Here I was hoping I'd found a link to my heartthob Michael Hickey mind you it's only in my mind he is still about 9, he is probably bald by now and he had the most gorgeous blonde curly hair. Ah well. Elaine.

lol to your heart throb sorry I couldn't oblige.

As for the 2 dog rescues I know them both from the car boots etc that they do. One of my friends insists on JJ's getting everything another goes to Noahs ARC lol ... My eldest came from APAH hence the reason I always stop at the dog rescues (aslong as they don't try and get me to take another dog).

They all break my heart some more than others. even my 5yr old pup is a rescue as I found her dumped in a car park in Cartegena age 8weeks

Meanwhile back to your heart throb ... I still can;t help but my 1st was a chap in Ridgeway ..who shhhh Nina might know, we were what 3 or 4 until 11 .....ahhh bless who knows if I hadn't moved !

Me,gossip.never. You have got me intrigued now, give me a hint and I might be able to update you.

Mind you, don't forget that I was a "comer" to Ridgeway, treated differantly because I hadn't lived there for three hundred years.

The oldies will be shocked that I found out via genes search that I am related to at least two Ridgeway families.

Nina in sunny but cold Sheffield.
