Must say I was not keen to see the Kings Speech - I was fed up watching Colin Firth in movies playing Darcy with a different name!!!

He has well and truly left Pride and Prejudice behind.

King's Speech - excellent, look forward to seeing him in future movies.

A Single Man - quite good.

You will enjoy Chris

The film was brilliant and like others have said, you didn't hear anything other than the film.

On the way out I overheard a man say 'Not one special effect in the whole film, just damn good acting all the way through' and that was so true.

It's a wonderful movie - I loved every minute of it. The people in the cinema didn't make a sound other than laugh at the funny moments. When it comes out on DVD I'll buy it because it is one movie I could watch again and again.

I dont think I fancy it. OH says he likes the sound of it.
I have been to see a film for years. The noise hurts my ears.why do they need to have it so loud?
If I remember rightly, my son went to see a Bond film and he told his Dad not to bother going as the sound was ear splitting.

I went last Thursday afternoon (Pensioners only)to see the Kings Speech and there wasn't a sound of paper rustling, slurping of drinks.

Mind it is an Independant cinema not one of the big conglomerates.

And just going off topic..I worked there over 35years ago.

Also I found I was stuffing tissue paper in my ears as the sound was so loud! I do sound like a grumpy old woman but then I suppose I am!!
Sandra my gchildren bought me that - old Pierce was OK but couldn't sing if I recall correctly! OH enjoyed it but once was enough

We saw it at our local Uni cinema. Not a peep out of the audience the whole time.

Magical.

I so agree with you, Chris - people talking through the film drives me barmy too. Actually, I have to say, when I went to see The King's Speech, there wasn't a sound from anybody throughout the film.

early in May!! It is released on DVD and I have just ordered it. Even if I was able to go to a cinema I would not. The pleasure was taken out of it by the sounds of slurping drinks and the noise of viewers eating popcorn plus the odd ringing of a mobile.

In my youth if you unwrapped a sweet noisily heads would shoot round.
