I see now that fergie has waded into the row..trying to make things better and has just made things worse.

Iv read quite a few things about how rude and bad mannered P-Andrew is,,maybe he gets it from his dad?

Read a few years ago about his freebies and then taking the chopper to go to Scotland to play golf, began to wonder and then last year that his valet takes a 6' ironing board with him everywhere.

My biggest objection is that we, the taxpayers are paying for babysitters for his daughters. Should have stopped when they reached 18 at least - they jaunt all round the world and then yesterday pictures of them falling out of a dubious nightclub at 4.00 a.m. with their boyfriends and bodyguards not far behind. Apparent Andrew insists on the bodyguards.

Princess Anne works hard (one of hardest working royals), refused titles for her children and presumably boydguards for them and they have led a normal life.

Someone I know knows Prince Andrew very well and speaks very highly of him - says he's quite charming and intelligent but can be forthright. But I don't suppose "Prince is all right bloke" makes very good tabloid headlines.

He might be charming and intelligent but when in the public eye, and funded by the taxpayer you need to be careful of the company you keep and what you say about others.

It is also interesting to see Blair and Mandelson are keeping a low profile, given the the way they were perhaps over friendly towards Libya and the Gaddafi family.

As for Fergie, she has the habit of shooting her own foot, but don't you think she has always been treated rather shabbily by the rest of the royals?

Perhaps it is time we declared England (or Britain) to be the republic it really is. The whole royal family is a complete waste of space and money to me.

The word "parasites" comes to mind.

Do you think that we are paying for those awful hats that Eugnie and her sister wear?
They always seem to dress far older than their years

ISP I do agree that Fergie has not been treated well by the Royals, yet they never quite ostracised Princess Pushy, Princess Michael, in the same way despite her gaffes.
I wonder if Fergie and Andrew had stayed together, things would have been better, I think they were pushed apart by the Royals yet have always seemed to stay close friends. It's been hard for their daughters to have to hear their mother maligned so often even tho she has put her foot in a few times lol
As for Blair - let him go and hang out with Gaddafi if he wants, best place for him, the creep.

Hear hear Rita.......Imagine having Tony Blair as a President!!!The Queen has had it tough as a lot of other families do,but she is very discreet and doesn't interfere...as far as we know.....The queen mother was known to meddle a bit though.

Don't think it was so much of Queen Mum meddling but that no one ever stood up to her!!!!

There was an article in the press the other day saying that If Andrew had had his bottom smacked as a child he may have been different. In the light of where he has been hanging around and with whom,Who says he,s not getting it done now?.and as for the Queen Mum.Well she was a bit of a tippler, spent money she had,nt got and ate like there was no tomorrow.**M**.

I think he is like his aunt and g,uncle - likes being bowed down to! Collects the expensive gifts as a perk, the holidays and does not care whither they come from. He has been keeping dubious company for years.

Surely common sense alone and regard for his mother and her position should have halted his friendship with the american one as soon as he was convicted and sent to prison. Andrew is not blind, don't tell me he did not know what was going on in the mansions.

Took long enough for No.10 to support him wonder if that was through the gnomes of the civil service and higher?

Forgot to say relative met him at a function in London a few months ago and he was heard demanding that his food should not have alcohol in it!!!
