Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay.

Tomorrow services will be held to mark the beginning of Lent.
It is considered as a day of penitence.

At Ash Wednesday services, worshippers are marked on the forehead with a cross of ashes as a sign of penitence and mortality.

The ashes used on Ash Wednesday are made by burning the palm
crosses that were blessed on the previous year's Palm Sunday.

If you are going to a service, travel safely.

Take gentle care
Very best wishes
xx

Elizabethofseasons!

Yes id did go to church today and so have the ash mark on my forehead. I wasn't going to go as my faith these days is very personal, but once a Catholic always a Catholic is said and how true that is.
I went really becuase it gave me some private time to think about our friends who were burying their son today at 13.00hrs UK time.

I cannot honestly say that we have gone without today in any shape of form that would allow me to say that I have been penitent but I think he upstairs will know what I have been upto.
Thank you for this posting and be kind to yourself.

Yes, I went to church this morning too. The church I now attend does not do the Imposition of Ash which I miss. Maybe one day!!

Thank you Elizabeth.

Hello Elizabeth, yes, I went to church yesterday and the Vicar

marked my forehead with ash from the palm crosses.

I find Lent a time of self examination . It was a lovely service.
