I have watched my recording of the programme. It was very sad, but very interesting too to see the little ones fighting and to hear the different views of the doctors, nurses and others involved in the care and admin areas of the health service. |

My neice was born at 26 weeks weighing l pound 3 ounces, she was given 2% change of survival. She is now 3 years old, her development is spot on for her age. Although she is very small, she is in size 18 months in clothes. We are very lucky, when she was in hospital she gave us quite a few scares, but fortunatley never had a bleed on the brain, I'm sure that has helped enormously. She was in hospital for 3 months, she came home on her due date. |

I have recorded it but will have to steel myself to watch, given that I lost my premature daughter years ago and have never got over the loss. |

Didn't see it...but my instinct says that if a baby is capable of living outside of the mothers body then it has the right to life.... |

yes i also worked in scbu and cared for these lovely delicate prem babys.i saw baby die and i saw some very early babys survive, some with disabillitys and some without,at the moment im caring for a child who was born at 24wks,hes three now,he cant talk,he cant walk(although im hoping with the 3hrs of physio im doing every day will change that) im teaching him to sign and we are able to comunicate in our own way,hes a very intelligent child, but ive also seen babys born with terrible disabillities, its a horrible thing to say but its a relief when they pass because they are in terrible pain its a horrible thing to have to watch these babys suffer.x |
