I've just been sent a copy of a newspaper article from someone I helped a year or so ago to find his true roots, we've become firm friends through the search and I think we will always remain in touch.......every time he comes over to England he rings me, which is lovely. :-))))

I saw a request for help to find a brother that this guy had never known in my local paper a year or so ago. I found that his brother had died and searched for a 2nd marriage for his sister in law, finally found one in a completely different area but he was a bit doubtful that it was her. I was so certain that it was the right woman that I encouraged him to write to her. He finally did and it was the right woman.

As soon as she got his letter she rang him immediately and they arranged to meet a couple of days later. Well, she took her son with her to meet Tony and burst into tears the moment she saw him.........she said he was the spitting image of his brother. They had only been married for a couple of years when she was widowed and her son had never known his father........but now he has an uncle! :-)))))))

The saddest part of all is that neither of the brothers had even known about each other. :-((((

There is a lot more to this story, I've only touched on it here........if anyone is interested in reading Tony's story there is a 2 part article in the paper - Western People 15th and 22nd February (I think it's a local Dublin paper?) - it's a story to touch your heart and bring a smile to your face.

Hi PricklyHolly

You'd have even more if you knew even half of what Tony has had to go through to get the info he finally has. He even had to take the CPRSI to the High Court to get them to release his records........records that they had told him repeatedly had been destroyed!!

The photos of him and his nephew are amazing........as alike as 2 peas in a pod. lol.

Mary

Edit: Hi Shimms, it's good to see you back here posting again. :-)))))
