Apparently the whole Pacific Basin could get the back lash of this but nowhere near as bad.

We have been warned no sightseeing and stay away from the beach here it is supposed to reach our North Cape around 6am our time tomorrow morning. It is nearly 11pm Fri night here in NZ.

In 1960 there was a Tsunami in Chile and then the backlash hit Japan and Hawaii.

There are so many plates in and around the Pacific area causing all this darned friction.

Terrible pictures coming in on TV.
I heard that there is warning of a second possible tsunami to hit Pacific coasts.

My thoughts go out to all affected by this latest natural disaster.
The earth seems so unstable in recent months.

My heart goes out to everyone involved in this quake.I do hope that they can evacuate other Pacific islands and other areas affected.

To all our friends in other parts of the world that may be affected do take care

They are used to getting these earthquakes and the building have been enforced to stand them but this is the worlds worse for 140 yrs!!!!

Its on its way to the Philepenes and possibly Hawai (sp)
Oh my god we are so lucky here!

There are cars being washed out to sea, Fires have broken out. It does not look good they have cancelled our TV programmes and we are watching this. They are telling us that NZ, Australia and Chile etc could also get Tsunamis as well.
