It does seem a long delay for such a short journey.

The card i sent was not to large but it seems to me that every time I post somethimg from my local post box it always takes a long time to get where it is goimg

A friend recently had to pay for what turned out to be a birthday card. It wasn't particularly large, but was a square shape.
We got caught out with a tall thin card too.

Now I always look for the picture of an envelope on the back of a greetings card, which indicates that the normal postage rate applies.

Someone told me once that if it looks like a card it gets second class treatment, regardless of how you stamp it.

The other thing to beware of is that quite a lot of cards need a large stamp these days as the envelope is larger than A5. If you understamp they get delayed and the recipient could be surcharged around £1.

That happened to me last month as the b card my mil sent was slightly oversized, and had been surcharged but as it happened the postie didn't bother to knock to collect the money.

My son sent a Birthday card from Canterbury on Tuesday to here Northants.First class and it arrived yesterday.Not good enough when you think what you pay for a first class stamp.

That's a real shame.
One would have thought it had been given enough days to arrive on time.

I do not know what is wrong with our opost sent a birthday card on Wednesday first class post and they had still not got it yesterday to late now
