Hate em! we used to have the winkle man come round on a Sunday yelling Cockles .Shrimps Winkles and would go out to buy em from his barrer! would buy half a pint of each which were measured in a silver tankard, These were our Sunday tea with bread and butter. Was Ok till one week I ate a winkle that was ORF and it put me off for ever more. Still Like shrimps and cockles, but winkles no thanks !! |
