if a child was born in 1928 that was adopted,would this child be recorded on the GRO index? |

As far as I know the birth would still be registered and recorded in the GRO index. It would depend on whether the mother named the child as to whether or not there would be a Christian name recorded. |

The birth cert will show the birth mother's name and on the right hand side it should be marked "Adopted" with the amending Registrar's signature and dated. |
