Now as you all know I am no longer a cook, well I thought I wasn't lol
This last 2 days I have made toad in the hole because OH wanted homemade yorkie. Made with Pork and leak sausages mind so that doesn't count BUT
I made scones, choc chip cookies, mince pies, a sour cheery tart and a strawberry tart. All I will say for OH even though the tarts he splits in 3.

Now I was working out the costings roughly, yes making my own yorkies instead of Aunt B's is cheaper, but were the rest ??? I'm not sure.

This got me and OH talking ..ok me talking and OH nodding about it
take knitting
Now it's cheaper to buy than to knit at times. and if you knit like I do better anyway.
To have a dress made is dearer than buying one in the shops.

Yet when I was a little one my gran baked, nan sewed and handknitted and grandad knitted .wow on a knittng machine. Much cheaper than bought

Just a thought for a Sunday

Good thought. I love to bake and have just put some bread in the bread maker, took one out last night and its nearly all gone. the smell of fresh bread was lovely. My nephew on the other hand is 18 this year and i started to knit him an animal blanket, needles to say, it never got finished lol

Allison I love fresh bread also but now rarely use my bread maker because of the costings ..well here I have to hunt the flour and then we waste half at least because I am not a bread lover if it's old.

mind might have to use the breadmaker again for beer and bacon bread aswell as cheesy bread.

Still will cost me more than buying "english" loaves......I don't like sweet Bimbo and not a lover of crusty stuff

Flour here is not a bad price and with two kids and hubby we do eat a bit and love it toasted. Like to make malt loaf, its lovely especially toasted.
