My daughter had a GSD/Collie cross, who,at the relatively old age of 6 had puppies!
She kept one, we called Demeter -or Demi for short -it sort of described the number of brain cells she had. She was a very friendly, unaggresive dog.
Demi got very excited by bikes,so we were in a field training her not to chase them.
She eventually got the message.
As we were walking home, a jogger came along. No-one had told her not to chase them!
However, she didn't chase him. She got about 10 yards directly behind him, and lifting her legs high (like him) she copied his rhythm and followed him step for step across the field!!

She looked so funny, we were in hysterics. The jogger was confused -he kept looking behind him wondering why the dog who was 'chasing' him never caught up!

I've always had a dog, sometimes two at once. The dog that gave me the most laughs was a Pyranean Mountain Dog that we had from a rescue centre. He had been shut in a coal shed and filthy in coal dust that took many washes to get him to his proper colour.
Sacha was massive, like a polar bear, but a big soft gentle dog with a definite sense of humour.
One day he needed to have a small op at the vets for a problem with his feet. I was told to collect him later in the day. The vet brought him out to me and explained that everything was fine but that he was still groggy from the sedation.
I led him out to the car, and opened the back door for him. He put his front legs on the seat as far as his elbows. At that point he put his head down and fell asleep, and proceeded to snore loudly. So now I had a predicament - a huge dog that weighed much more than me, half in, and half out of the car, and unconconscious.
I tried lifting his back end and shoving, but it was no use.
Along came a man with a Yorkshire Terrier - he went hysterical when I explained. Eventually with a lot of pushing and shoving the two of us managed to heave Sacha into the car. He filled the width of the car and had his face tight up against the far door. He snored loudly all the way home, and I left him sleeping it off on the driveway. He woke up about three hours later.
Sacha had a good life with us, and there are many funny stories about him that I remember. A real character.

Tec, we had one - Sam and he was black, rescued from the vets at 3 mths, was with us for over 9 years.

We lived in a thatched cottage and it was up for sale (I swore later if I had charged £1 per person we could have paid the agents fees) even had a Portugese Count with his white roller and afghan hound turned up. Wouldn't leave his dog in car so ours was tied up to apple tree at bottom of garden and showed his disproval loudly.

One Sunday morning OH got up to make a cuppa - stairs went into kitchen and he yells we have a burst pipe. Got to bottom of stairs, hole in ceiling, plaster on floor (meantime I pointed out we had no water so therefore no burst pipe) large hole above sink, sink full of plaster (bathroom off kitchen) large hole full length of bath - bath full, into toilet- same again only this time can see into roof and larch rafters! And the stench, rotted straw and broken stays.

Suddenly noticed Sam crawling past me towards livingroom and looking guilty! Upstairs we go, in first bedroom was a door with a brass bolt on it, a very small boxroom and in it a panel lifted off for access to roof. I would not go near for fear of spiders.

Previous day we had viewers who asked to look into roof, I told them to put panel back (they hadn't) they had pushed the door too but not bolted it and we had not noticed. Sam had and had gone on a nosey, how he had not gone through the ceilings we do not know - he weighed about 9 stone.

Worse was yet to come on the Monday I had to ring estate agent and ask her not to send any viewers until she heard from me. When pressed by her for a reason I had to say ' well the dog has made holes in the ceilings'!
