Have to add, neighbour bought some new folding garden chairs, went to open back door, came back and they were taking them. If it is not screwed down it is away. |

You have just touched a nerve, where I live in a cul-de-sac, at least 5/6 vans drive down our road a day, used to just take bags left out for charities, now it is for metal, caught them in are back garden, any skip in front gardens they climb all over like locusts, which is trespass. We have a load of metal which husband wants to give to our regular scrap metal dealer. Husband saw him yesterday and asked for his No, he said he is going out of businees, stated that they follow him and take scrap from his lorry. |

I know Ann, I've been told that scrap metal commands a high price. It does worry me a lot that 'certain types of people' are keeping an eye out on their home. It's quite a busy road and very difficult to park nearby too, so I don't know how they do it without being spotted. |

They are usually travellers who collect scrap metal and get good money for it. Just don't leave anything outside that you want to keep. |

My son moved in December and he also threw a lot of junk outside. We watched a open back truck come up on a sunday afternoon and take the lot. There must be somewhere where they take all this rubbish and get money. It helped my son as he did not have to pay for the heavy sqad. |

Bearing in mind that my daughter had her burnt out dishwasher stolen from the front of her house last Tuesday, where the firemen had put it, following it setting on fire in the early hours the weekend before last, an hour before the xxxpoint engineer was due to arrive to assess the damage ........ I jokingly suggested to her yesterday, on trying to find her gardening equipment in the shed with great difficulty because there's an old, caput cooker in there, that she put it out the front and it might get pinched. |
