Ann, I hope you will get a message from your son soon, but try to stay positive. Easy for me to say I know, with my son close by and not in the forces but I am sure he will be fine and in touch when he can do so.

Ann. Sending you positive thoughts, and hope you here from your son very soon.
I pray all our service personnel are safe.
I don't have a family member in the forces, but did have during the first Gulf war, and it was a worrying time.
I hope you get the support you need, and know that SE will help all she can.

Take care

Ann you have my sympathy, it must be very worrying. My husband was in the RN many years ago and the fear of being caught up in conflict was always there. Fortunately he was only off the coast of Malaysia during the war there, but it was still worrying even though they were not directly involved. (They were involved enough to get a medal).

I pray that all the sons and husbands return home safely. Goodness don't mothers and wives of our service personnel have enough to worry about with Afghanistan without this?

dear Ann
I do have a son in the Army who has been to one of the most dangerous places our lads and lassies could possibly be. I do not think I should write any more on here and I am sure that most people would understand why, However if you send me a PM by checking on my name I will send you a message .

I hope to hear from you

Ann
I feel for you. It is natural to worry and wonder, even if logic tells you that for security reasons you can't be told too much.

I don't have children away at war, but I know there are some Mum's who post here, who do have children in the Services.
I hope you can draw strength from one another and hear from your loved ones soon.
