Well I thought if push comes to shove I can always have a sit down in between but anything which could help my breathing has to be worth a try.

Chris, Hope you enjoy the DVD and get something out of it, I have been doing tai chi for about 14 years, the benefits are, less stress, better balance, etc, (I could go on). It takes time to feel the benefits with the breathing, but keep at it,
You can also buy tai chi music which is very calming. I really can't recomend tai chi enough. it is a martial art, and all the movements although done slowly in practice, can be used when done more quickly to ward off an attacker or get you out of trouble! I have been lucky in finding a class locally and over the years have progressed to the 'weaponry' side of it,using a sword, sabre, and spear.
(I must add these weapons are not real, i.e. the spear is a wooden curtain pole, the other two are metal). And we never hurt each other in practice. Good luck with the DVD, do let us know how you get on.
Best wishes,

ShelleyRose x

Hi Chris,

I suffered a neck injury a few years ago and was recommended Tai Chi by an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Having endured years of physio etc, thought I would give it a go. So glad I did. Within months of learning some basic Tai Chi movements, my problems disappeared. The movements are slow and different groups of muscles are exercised in a very 'gentle' way. Tai Chi is also supposed to help balance and posture etc.
I hope you find the DVD useful, if not, I can recommend a very good book which explains the movements very clearly.

Hi Chris

I've always fancied doing Tai Chi but have never found any classes around my area either. :-((

From what I understand it is supposed to be a very good but gentle form of exercise. Good luck with your DVD, let us know how you get on with it?

Having never been into violent exercise at any time in my life, I thought about this off and on but could never find classes. However have just ordered a DVD for beginners - at less than £5 it won't break the bank and may do me some good especially with breathing.
