It wont be in the normal GRO records. Have you looked on the CWGC site .
Death certs can be found in the Army deaths But the certs have little info on them re the manner of death . Will usually say Killed in Action .or Died of Wounds etc

Hello,

Does anyone know if there are death certificates for persons who died in the war?

I am trying to find out what happened to my Great Uncle, upon searching Ancestry (on the military search) I discover that he may have died in WW1-but I can't find his death in the normal BMD registry?

Also I have another distant relative who died in WW2-family were told that he died in action yet I can not find any record of death to verify this?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
