The Akita is a lovely dog. We see quite a few of them here, especially in Vancouver.


But yes, they can have a mind of their own!

his grand parents come from Vancouver Sylvia
he has two dogs called the mad hatter and the joker in is pedigree

it should of been a warning maybe lol

I think Vancouver has close to (if not THE) the largest population of Japanese outside Japan. Always has had. So, many of them have Akitas

Sylvia canada have bred some of the best akitas in the world
Canada also acknowledges the long haired type
where as here in England you cant show them
only the short haired are to be show here

yes the tails are wonderful but hard to keep tatter free
and Benson just doesnt like the hair brush lol

I've got 2 semi dwarf Pomeranians-I find the chest harness works very well on the one which likes to pull on the lead all the time,It's very humane because it stops him pulling on the lead without choking him.

The other dog won't have a bar of that type of lead,so I find that a conventional lead works best with him.

Various halters and leads suit not just different breeds,but different temperaments as well.You just have to find the one that suits your dog best.This can be a rather expensive option,but it's the only thing which has worked for me.
