I'd prefer flowers..having been to a couple of funerals where none permitted, it seemed a bit bare or lonely (only my opinion of course)..I so love the smell of fresias and tuberoses....

When my mum died I didn't suggest either , just told everyone that what she would like is for them to "go out and have a nice tea and a cream cake", her words lol.

So when I go I will be happy if people do the same :) or if they feel so inclined plant something in their garden in memory.

Flowers. We didn't specify for either parent but I know that flowers for mum meant a lot to my dad and were a great comfort to him. Likewise for my siblings and I when our dad passed, the grave was covered with floral tributes and the air was heavy with their scent. It was beautiful.

I think a lot of people are unsure whether 'family flowers only' excludes extended family and some very good friends are often closer to the deceased than the relatives. I'd rather see 'flowers OR donations to ....' giving mourners the choice.

I want flowers. It's not as if charities haven't benifitted from me while living.

My mother only wanted Flowers picked from our gardens and wild ones , she never ever wanted our money wasted...

And she got her wish as she died in June they were mainly Roses.......just as you picked them scattered all around , it looked lovely .
Even now we all take our flowers from our garden throughout the year and place them on her grave for her anniversary's ........so simple but nice .

Marilyn.

I do not mind what they do when I am dead, I believe our soul goes to heaven and that the body left behind is just an empty shell, however I suppose donation's would be better, at least someone else is getting some benefit out of the money and flowers just die.

Which will you specify for when you 'move on'. Funeral this week and it is flowers only - first time in years we have not had a request for donations.

Me - well my lot know it is one spray of freesias and then the RNLI. They can go to supermarket and get the spray!!!!!!
