Julia, I think that was the operation that my GP was thinking of. I would try anything except catheterising myself two or three times a day. I get infection far too easily for that.

Jean you would only have a TVT if you were suffering from stress incontinence, like when you sneeze. If you were suffering from an irritable bladder, when you have to rush to the loo for no good reason, you would benefit from a simple tablet x

Hello Jean
I had my bladder repaired using a Tension Free Vaginal Tape in 1999. This was done under a Spinal Block anaesthetic. I had urodynamics prior to this which proved my bladder wasn't working efficiently. This operation has proved excellent and I've never looked back and I was only in hospital a couple of days.
I hope your problem can be sorted out very soon for you.
best wishes
Julia in Herts

Spoke to my Gp in a phone consultation yesterday, and he is referring me back to the specialist that I saw before as the problem has got worse. He thinka a small operation might work, so I will see if he is right.

Lidl stock incontinence pads which are just as effective but much less costly than Tena Lady.

My dad had big catheter problems and now likes to be wearing one for reassurance. If a cold hits me in the washer, making it leaky,I usually raid his supply.

Does anyone know anything about the washable pants that are available? Do they survive a full flow? though it doesnt happen often, i find that on occasions the Tena Ladys are not enough, and it can be difficult when out.The washable ones are abit expensive to just take a chance on I find. Fairly new to the problem.
