Okay truth be told the Green comment not sincere.
If I vote Liberal then Micheal whatshisface Leader of the Liberals gets in as he's my area....so it's a no win really who ever I vote for !!
Been nice "talking" but I think this has died the death of the Government....now what can we talk about next.......OMG earth shattering news Timmies is increasing SOME of their prices next week..........before you get too hot under the collar I don't go to Timmies...not since it took the army how many days to clear the drive through.......well okay sometimes to buy the kids Timbits...which of course I have to test for them......

C -- alone in an echo chamber, were we? ;)

Pleeease don't vote Green. They're just a wing of the Conservative Party (one of the last Green candidates in my riding was previously a Conservative candidate, and he's not the only one.) Greens in Canada are not even distant cousins of Greens in Europe, for example.

They haven't got one up for this year yet, but here's the one for last year -- note the Greens on the *right* of the chart:

And May is a megalomaniac who says strange things when she thinks the mike isn't on. Ever read what she had to say to a bunch of nuns about abortion? Hard to look progressive in public when you're badmouthing women in private.

Vote Liberal if you have to! ;) Strategic voting can be a good thing.

When Anthony Green died of cancer in ER, Diz?

You can't rival that -- I mean, they did it in Hawaii. ;)

No.1 never saw the early years of ER. He has downloaded it and we watch one occasionally, I think we've got through about 4 of the first ones.

I also got him to download St Elsewhere, because I never saw the early ones of that, and I never did figure out the whole storyline about Peter and that thing he did ...

We only called out the army once and the snow was REALLY deep so there....I mean is life worth living if you can't get into the Timmies drive through

You mean there is more life on this notice board not just us ??

Actually I'm not a 905er still close enough to be a 416er...and as for Harper..no way.....the only man I know who can put his head in the sand TWICE when the going get tough and still be ahead in the polls right now.
I think the Green party maybe this year...I mean we have so many elections we might as well vote for someone new each time right ??

Okay so you're obviously East of here...OMG you're not a Newfie are you ! =0) or even worse from Quebec !!

Ooo, I don't give away my lair on the internet. I'll whisper it to you by PM later maybe. ;)

And nooo, 905ers are far worse than real Torontonians. My sister and my mum are 905ers these days, heaven help them. I do have a pic of my sister's partner in the heart of downtown (west of Bathurst, north of College -- I lived on College right by Bathurst at one time, and all my more Torontonian siblings have lived in that neighbourhood) dealing with the snow one Christmas ... with a broom, in a Tshirt. I had to escape Toronto about 3 hours ahead of the big snowstorm back in 1998 was it? by driving fast with pneumonia, rather than be stuck there waiting for THE ARMY to dig me out!

But surprisingly, no snow where I'm at this week! Although if you had it, we'll probably get it ...

As a presumed 905er, the odds are you'll be voting for the Harper Party. You might not want to mention it if you do, as you would then go on my ignore list. ;)

I'm feeling like the Baptists in heaven here (only in reverse, I guess) -- nobody else wants to talk to us! For all the Chat board is dead -- hey you foreigners, feel free to join in and mock Toronto. ;)

A man arrived at the gates of Heaven. St. Peter asked, "Religion?" The man said, "Methodist." St. Peter looked down his list and said," Go to Room 24, but be very quiet as you pass Room 8."

Another man arrived at the gates of Heaven. "Religion?" "Catholic." "Go to Room 18, but be very quiet as you pass Room 8."

A woman arrived at the gates. "Religion?" "Jewish." "Go to Room 11 but be very quiet as you pass Room 8."

The woman said, "I can understand there being different rooms for different religions, but why must I be quiet when I pass Room 8?"

St. Peter told her, "Well, the Baptists are in Room 8, and they think they're the only ones here."

Okay it snowed last night ! Then rained and thunder that woke me up.
You obvioulsy love TO...would it help if I said I don't live downtown but on the outskirts ? =0(
Thanks for the heads up but I don't have cable so can't get AMC...I know cheap ain't I ?!!
So JaneyCanuck (as famous as you are obvioulsy not your name!) where in the great white north are you then ?

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 3 Apr 2011 21:27

No ... you're not a true Canuckistanian ... because you live in Toronto! Almost as unCanuck as lotusland.

Check AMC on TV tonight -- there's a US remake of The Killing they were telling me about in my no-spoilers thread, starting tonight. The first two episodes, starting at 9 p.m., and rerun at 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. for easy taping. Set in Seattle, but filmed in Vancouver, of course. ;)

Caroline

Caroline Report 3 Apr 2011 20:11

Okay....
1 - No I'm not a true Canuckistanian....born in UK...sorry =0)

2 - cement hard snow.....where are you ??? Here in sunny TO it's lovely and Spring like.....until the next snow storm that is....never say never even in sunny TO.

3 - Crocuses are up this last week....which is funny because I've never planted any. Tulip and Daffs are about 3 inches tall right now.

4 - so far no one has knocked on my door from any party....maybe because I always ask them awkward questions !!

Just to please you I raked the backyard this afternoon....and found the local cat population has been around again....not my cat he stays indoors.

JaneyCanuck Report 2 Apr 2011 22:51

Raking ... sorry, you're not a real Canuckistanian. ;)

We're still waiting for the last (hopefully) of the cement-hard snow to leave the garden, here. No raking of the leaf cover off anything until it's a bit warmer.

The NDP crew was around with the lawn signs this morning, and the patches of ground in front of the porches were still frozen solid -- facing northeast, not much chance to warm up -- so no lawn signs for a few days yet.

We almost always have crocuses up by the end of March and even tulip leaves sprouting. Nothing so far this year. No.1 says they're smart, they know it's been bitter freezing cold still. Good thing. Several years ago, we had an early thaw and the garden wasn't quite so smart, and then there was another freeze and I lost half the perennials ...

Caroline Report 2 Apr 2011 20:58

Yes it is Home Hardware and I'd love one of those IF it did all the work and I just sat and watched !
Having just spent over 2 hrs raking I hate to think what my back will be like tomorrow....at least the kids picked the stuff up and put it in the container...not without moaning......not without leaving half of it on the sidewalk still.
No worries I'm sure I've won the $50 million....just need to find my ticket then I can employ someone to do the gardening for me.........

Funny thing is we never saw any of the hype! We tend to tape nighttime shows and then watch, as I work most evenings (and we stay up very late), so we just skip through the commercials.

True about most of them not singing. As for how much attention I was paying ... when they were having fetus problems, I looked up from the paper and said to No.1 "now they're going to have to get that one from Private Practice to come over" and went back to the paper, other than to look up a while later and say "this is appalling". When I was googling yesterday to see who did the singing, I saw they had done just as I had advised. I failed to notice, apparently. ;)

The ads have started -- have you seen the new Home Hardware (I think it was) one for the wheelbarrow turned hand truck turned forklift? It was on during Escape From the Country at noon today. Only $150; imagine how many people are going to need one of them on the first weekend of spring! Lots of big rocks need moving around in the suburbs. I can't talk. I have a wheelbarrow somewhere in the garage ... or two ...

Caroline Report 2 Apr 2011 12:46

I'm not sure I said the acting was good but the singing was good !!
I understand the Callie character has been on stage before, and she had the best voice on the show....interesting how some of them didn't sing at all (inc main characters) so they must have really bad voices =0)
I stopped watching this show regularly as the plot is awful at the best of times now, but it was hyped so much I thought I'd watch it.
Agree with you on your other thread come April TV gets awful over here, but I think we're meant to follow the Canadian Tire advert and go outside 24/7 during the summer !!!

I stand corrected by myself!

http://celebrity-gossip.net/jessica-capshaw/greys-anatomy-musical-event-details-493305

It seems they did do the singing. The Callie character is apparently a singer.

It was still crud, though. ;)

Cripes, check out the pictures of Grey at that page. The vulgarity of her get-up aside, I wonder whether she has the strength left to say "eating disorder".

No wonder her character can't get pregnant ...

JaneyCanuck Report 1 Apr 2011 21:23

Hahahaha. Well, they lip synch real good, anyhow.

Unfortunately, our appraisals differ. ;)

No.1 and I could hardly keep from falling asleep in between remarking how appalling it was, and my mum agreed!

If that show ever gets a plot (instead of just having a bunch of people jumping in and out of bed with a bunch of other people for no apparent reason), I think we'd fall over in a dead faint.

Caroline Report 1 Apr 2011 14:45

Okay not sure where you are in the UK for this show so will try not to ruin it......but who knew so many of the cast had such great singing voices !
Last night (USA and Canada) I thought they'd hyped it up too much BUT it was really good.
