car tax hike

i feel quite hard done by as my car tax ran out at midnight on the 31st mar. that day i was busy in town shopping, at the dentist and didnt reach home until nearly 6pm. |

It also says on my renewal form-in RED capitol letters "the rates of duty apply at the time of printing,a different rate may apply following any Budget statement" |

Florence - even had you purchased your tax on 27 March or days earlier, because the tax was valid from 1 April you would have been charged at the new and higher rate - I know because that happened to me one year too. |

yes but chris our post mistress said if i had bought it before apr 1,i would have got old rate because new only aplied after 1 apr. |

yes i agree, there are more pot holes than ever up here and it so damages the wheel alignment. all the loose pieces of chips and stones that have broken up, have given me 2 cracked windsreens in the last 8 months. each new one i claimed on my insurance, but the excess is £75.00 per claim when its not even my fault. |

Florence, the Road Tax usually goes up by £5 each year,mine is due soon and I expect it to go to £210.Would,nt be so bad if it went on the roads but its just another con,it goes anywhere but. Try claimimg from the Council for your broken screens,they should have insurance to cover it..**M**. |
