I love Sempervivums as well but have never tried to grow them from seed , I'd be very interested to hear how you get on with it Julia .
I was at a garden centre earlier this afternoon and fondled some ( plants not seeds ) but somehow managed to resist the urge to buy them ....lol
I saw , a few days ago whilst going past in our car in the local area , a flat roof of a new house , from the glimpse I caught , it looked to be entirely planted up with low growing somethings , I shall be returning for a closer look in the near future as I'm betting it was an expance of Houseleeks ! I'll get a photo if I can : )

Oh Rose, I am so pleased your Lilacs came. Hope they do well.
I have a Buddleia, self -set from next door, in my front garden. It is a deep purpe against grey leaves. Gorgeous. Enjoy your Lilacs, I know what they mean to you.

I used to have them before we moved Julia, we'd always had them and taken the babies off, D used to do well selling them lol. Never grown them from seed though.

Enjoy your gardening, I have been out and pottered and planted two lilacs which came in the post this morning, one lilac colour and one white :)) I need some more compost to get some seeds going before I can do much more, but things that were already here are growing nicely now the sun is out :)

Hello All, just having a cuppa whilst I break from the toil.
I like to grow sempervivum/houseleeks. I know alot of people do not see any beauty in them, but I do. I have usually bought these, and taken off the babies and potted them up, with much success.
I have bought a packet of seeds of this variety, and wondered if anyone else had grown them from seed, and what the success rate was.
