My husband loves taking photos so, for Christmas, he was bought a day's photographic course, at a venue of his choice, from "B*y a G*ft".

Has anyone ever been on one? He doesn't have a photographers' camera, just one of the small ones that lots of people have these days. We thought we might combine it with a weekend trip away.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be much appreciated. :))

Thank-you

Annx

Helen, I've never been on one of those but I did a nightschool beginners short course a few years ago. All I would say is to have some photos on the camera to work with if needs be, remember to take any leads to connect the camera to a computer and a notebook and pen to jot stuff down he knows he will forget.......and the instruction book for the camera!!

Please report back when he has been, I would be interestested to know if it was good.

I have not been on one but there used to be a school in Braithwaite in the Lake District that had good reviews and we also saw them out working. No doubt if you get the itinary of the one he chooses it will say what he need to have with him.

Sometimes the photographic magazines will have adverts for weekend incorporating the photographic days.

lucky him that is a pressie I'd like to be given.

Thank-you Annx and Ann in Glos. We thought it was a great pressie! We love the Lake District( I spent my teenage years being dragged up various mountains with a sulky expression on my face, check out the photos) so that is a very real possibility.

Thanks for the suggestions of all the stuff to take.

I think OH may have preferred a racing car day.....but a gift is a gift! I know he will love it. He is very sociable.
