i am always care full as 30yrs ago i fell off a ladder and fractured my spine in two places ,broke my wrist in two places.and cracked two ribs. so i am very careful. |

My son broke his elbow last Saturday and the local hospital does not do X-rays on a weekend so we had to travel 20 miles to the main hospital. |

sorry for the delay in answering the doctor says as it is so swollen the cant do xray till the swelling goes down. have just put the wife on a train to go down to london to help out with the little one. thank you for your reply,s. |

Apparently, if a limb is swollen after an accident there is no point in them xraying, they wait for the swelling to go down to get a true picture of the damage. A week seems a bit too long to wait tho, maybe your family can take her back if the swelling goes down in the next couple of days. It would be sensible to try and keep her resting rather than trying to walk on it but I believe children's bones are still a bit soft at this age, maybe just an old wives tale, so once the swelling goes down and the bruising comes out they can see better what has happened. Some arnica will help the bruising if there is no broken skin, bless her. |

my step grand daughter was knocked over by a car yesterdy the car ran over her foot the hospial never exrayed her as her foot was swollen they never even strapped her foot told her mother they wil make an apiontment for her to go to the fracture clinic in a weeks time, she,s in a lot of pain she,s three years old dont hospitals care any more. . poor little bugger cannot walk on it. rant over. she ok did not break any thing just badly bruised thank god she was very lucky. |
