I think if something cheers you, makes you feel a bit less hopeless than you felt before then it's done its job lol....

I think 'Grease' is a lousy story and has some dire over acting in parts...but it's upbeat and 'everything turns out right in the end' & makes you sing along :)

I didn't think it was a load of rubbish, as I said earlier, it was entertaining and brightened my mood, as it did the first time I watched it. I will watch my dvd of it again sometime too. Not sure if I would have enjoyed it at the cinema, I find it too uncomfy to sit in those seats for too long anyway but would have been jigging about a bit to the music so might not have pleased anyone sitting behind me lol

Each to his own but sad that people have been so scathing, and the actors seem to have enjoyed doing it if the programme about the making of the film and the musical were anything to go by.

Watched part of Atonement and recorded the rest to watch later. I much prefer happier stories !

I agree with you Liz. I saw it at the cinema and enjoyed it for what it was - light-hearted entertainment. Left the cinema feeling very cheerful.

I also watched 'Atonement' last night and thoroughly enjoyed that too. Although it was sad, I found it rather beautiful.

Have to agree with Motown Girl in that 'I really, really wanted to love Mamma Mia' . I queued up the first week and couldn't get into the cinema and had to go the second week. I wish I didn't think it was 'a load of rubbish' but as I say its a good job we don't all like/dislike the same things........and I don't care how many dvds and how many of zillions enjoyed it I am really disappointed that I can't agree but hey....thats life. If it makes AnninGlos happy I will say it wasn't to my taste.......but does that really convey my thoughts ...or Anns by proxy?-jl
