Get your Local Council to deal with, if they will.

Thanks for that. I have just tried them and they said they will sort it out for me. I didnt think they would as it is in my garden and not on the street.

Thankfully they said they would but we will just have to wait and see if they do. Not sure what we will do if they dont

I am amazed. As a hen owner, who lost my favourite chook to a fox yesterday, I don't know how foxes die apart from being hunted.

If the council will not remove it from your garden but only from the street I amsure it could fairly easily find it's way on to the street!

I think I understood the people on the Channel 5 early morning programme about Wild life rescues, that foxes can die from bad mange problems. Also a fox could be hit by a car or something and get to the garden but then die, and I suppose sometimes they die of old age.

Hope the council picked up the body Jane.

Sorry to hear about your favourite chook being taken, Helen, that's so sad.

Thanks everyone for your help.

I had to phone the Council back up and chase them up. They were going to leave it there all night and send someone round this morning to collect it. I said it wont be here in the morning. The Council said what do you mean it wont be there in the morning. We have lots of foxes and badgers running around here and the last thing I want is for them to play with it. Never mind the local cats. They said it wasnt an emergency so there was no rush to collect it. but they did say they would try and collect it tonight. Luckily they did eventually come and remove it . If they hadnt we would have removed it and put it where they would have had to come and dealt with it quickly.

This fox was horrible it did have the mange and looked really unwell. I think it was probably for the best it died or else it would have only continued to suffer.

All the best
