Is it just me, or are freckles disappearing?
I was at the park today and noticed a little girl with just a few freckles on her nose. That made me think that i couldn't remember that last time i saw a child with a face full of freckles!
I seem to remember growing up, that half the kids in school (me being one of them!) had a face full of freckles, especially during the summer!

I sooo weren't Wend!...........i was more of a "Dennis The Menace!"
My Mum and Dad always told me that freckles were a sign of beauty.
Yeah right!!! lol
I have a school photo of when i was 13 and my face looks like one of those "Dot to Dot" pictures. The only thing missing, is the numbers telling you where to join them up!! :>))

Perhaps parents are taking more care that their children are not exposed to the sun too much these days.

Hiya All, Good Morning
Well I still have them, even at my age, but I have to spend a summer with plenty of sunshine, though not sun bathing. They are on my forearms (I can see a few now) and on my face. But then, Mummy was a Redhead, and though I am dark, they still appear.

Freclkes are kisses from the sun gods, well thats what i told the kids at school who laughed at mine, i'm into my 40's now and still have them all year round, but they are more apparent in the summertime. xx

My eldest son still has them all over his face and arms
more so when the sun is out ,he hates them lol .
When he was about 8/9 yrs old i caught him with a brillo pad trying to scrubb them off because the other children used to call him freckles lol

I agree Huia, although freckles are genetic, exposure to the sun certainly triggers them. Most parents are so clued up on the use of sunscreen these days which is obviously why freckles are not so visible.

You have been kissed by the sun gods then Julia. Sounds lovely that! x

Aw, bless his cotton socks Hazel!
I was told as a teenager that citric acid faded freckles. I used to buy lemons, cut them in half and dab them on my face before bedtime!
I dont think it worked though!

Morning Prickles, yes, as you say, I must have been kissed by the sun God.
If my memory takes me back to my history days, Louis X1111, rather fancied himself as the sun god, hence his building the Palace of Versailles(sp). Pity he didn't leave me owt in his will.LOL
