Has anyone self published a book on family history or a biography? If so who would u recommend. Also has anyone had any dealings with a Mr John Heaton who tries to find publishers who will accept your work?

You may be interested in publishing it yourself, it is relatively inexpensive and you can print exactly the number you want.

Google: self publishing uk

One site is https://www.lulu.com

Hope this helps

It is possible to get your own book printed privately at reasonable costs. Look for digital printers in your area who do small runs or even one offs for individuals. If you can knock your book into some sort of shape and get it on disc you are almost there.
I have done a biography and a small book on family history feeling the need to get something in print sooner rather than later. You will never find out everything about your ancestors, after ten years I am still turning up surprises!
I am afraid I cannot recommend my son in laws printing business, probably unethical on this site but there are a growing number of digital printers who are offering the service to people who have a book in them.

good luck
