I sometimes use the RO local to the area, they are generally very helpful if you want some details checked, and send certs. quickly.

LOL

Just noticed the R that slipped in there, that's what happens when you're supposed to be working and doing this in a hurry as not to get caught out.

Tis a virtue Joe - last week going through correspondence and sorting out, I found a note - ask if Henry James and Mary Ann had any children - this was dated about 1994.

Last year found out they had - three - two taken into care. Two girls died of tb and boy migrated to Canad as a Home Child - had a lot of help from GR members - a long wait but you will not, I hope, have to wait so long for your cert.

I use the local Register Office where events were reg and find I have the certs back in 5 days sometimes less.

That's what I thought.

I ordered it online from the GRO - same way as I've always done. :(

That's a long wait, it's not usually that long! Did you order from GRO or local office?

I placed an order on the 11th April, despatch date 15th, and it arrived on the 14th - can't understand why your order will take so long??

Morning all

How many are climbing the walls waiting for certificates. I placed an order on the 8th Apr but the dispatch date isn't till the 6th May almost a month later - the wait is killing me.

I remember once someone suggesting that htey chould have it e-maild to you maybe at a cheaper rate and then if you really wanted the certificate you could then pay said cost and wait, especially since most of us are just after details not the piece of paper itself.

What's everyone else think?
