If I don't renew my membership when it expires soon, but reopen it next year for instance, will all my threads have been wiped out?
and will I be able to change my name?

I have just had about ten months away from the boards. During that time my membership was renewed without my asking. When I queried why this was done I received an apology and a credit of some additional time. When I returned to GR all my previous threads were there as was my tree and my old (sorry previous) friends.

I believe you can change your name any time.

I believe that your threads will stay intact.

If you decide not to renew your membership you will revert to being a Free Member. Free Members can still maintain their tree, and reply to private messages sent by other subscribing members. However to will not be able to initiate messages to other members, view their trees nor post to the message boards.

That is a bit like going away and coming home to the same rubbish in your bins. I had hoped it would delete all the stuff on 'thread participation' which should have just been bookmarked. Oh well, get the vacuum cleaner out.

I think that if you delete yourself, everything goes with you?
