I'd give her a sense of humour - she's a very gracious lady but she doesn't often smile.

I'd get her a new pair of shoes.

She has worn (what appear to be) the same ones for donkey's years...sensible court shoe with a thick 1" heel. OK I understand that they're prob v comfy and she won't fall off them and twist her ankle, but I bet she's dying to wear a pair of nice flashy sequinned flip flops once in a while.

So whilst she's having her day off (pressie from Joy), I think she should schlep around in a pair of flip flops whilst going to the kitchen where she'll have a go at drying the dishes with that tea towel. LOL

A slot on the Jeremy Kyle show for some of the more wayward members of her family...seeing as it's her day off she can sit back and let Jezza put them through their paces !! x

She is a country girl, I would take her somewhere secluded in the country by a stream and have a picnic. Happy Birthday Ma'am.

Send to a hairdresser as she must be fed up with the same old style day after day

Seriously though........she's doing very well for 85. She looks wonderful and still keeps up with all her social duties. I know she's cut down but she's 20 -25 years over the normal retirement age.
