Thank you for your input. I have mangered to teach them how to do the painting and the wallpapering. Carpet was a one off (I hope). Just the tiling and laminate flooring to go. Daughter is pretty good at most things but terrified of using a Stanley knife (hence me laying the carpet). Her OH not so good at DIY but a whiz with computers. I suppose you can't have everything. |

Unfortunately DIY is not their strong point and they are trying to save some money as they are getting married in December this year. So I seem to get roped in for this DIY jobs. |

Why were you laying carpet? I don't wish to sound insensitive but are the couple not able to do it themselves? |

I used to be capable of this kind of day, but infirmity has put a stop to it. Finding things out for people seems about all I am avle now. You are right to insist on some 'me' time, keeps you sane. |

Got up this morning abt. 7.30. Had breakfast, washed dishes from the night before, tidied up. Then from 9am till 10.30am bathed and dressed disabled husband. Week-end shopping. Lunch. Laid carpet for daughter and future son-in-law. Coloured daughters hair. Phoned Aunt (85) with disabled husband who suffers from Alzhiemers(spelling). Tea for husband. Finally on computer (my time - without it, I think I'd go around the proverbiak bend) |
