Maybe DC had been told that security rating would need to be increased but not the exact reason altho it's maybe more likely the honeymoon was postponed to put the paparazzi off the trail

Quinsgran

Detective and Ann are quite right

don't be worried

If we get worried, cancel plans and stay home "just because" ....... then they have won

and we do not want that

Just be alert, and accept that US security will probably still be on high ...... so make sure you are not carrying anything, especially in carry-on, that you shouldn't be.

and be prepared for the body search.

Don't be worried, just stay alert. And be prepared for security to be higher than usual.

Please don't get worried - a bit nervous yes, but worried no.

If we change our travel plans 'just in case' then the Terrorists have won. It isn't as if you are going to a known war zone!

Rita

allegedly, the Americans did not tell ANY other country about the planned happenings until after it had happened ..... and I gather that the first news might have been Obama's speech

This was because of secrecy reasons ........ they obviously did not trust any country not to let the cat out of the bag.

so I doubt very much that David Cameron got any advance notice.

I await with interest to see if the "cowardly" Bin Laden was using a women as a human shield or whether the lady was trying to protect her boss (or husband).

Glad he is dead, but cruel leaders abound in this world. Where is the line to be drawn? (and who draws it?)

Happy days

I remain concerned, as has been said - not sure we should celebrate yet, with heightened risk of retaliatory attacks. Here in Canada, specifically Ontario, we are well aware that there have long been rumors that Toronto and Ottawa could be targets as well.
May reason reign.

I agree that it was a pity he was killed, and that he did not stand trial, but there again that would have taken years and we would have had to pay for it.

It be even harder to get into America now I should think.

He may not have been proven to have been implicated in any major terrorist activity in the past ten years - but he still needed to be brought to whatever possible justice for his proven involvment in the horror of the destruction of the World Trade Centers - and all the innocent lives lost in that massacre.
Thank God he is dead. I just hope that is proven to be the case.
May he rot in Hell for all eternity.

pity he was "killed"...........only martyrs get their free supply of virgins.....
poor man to suffer eternity........

Sharron

Sharron Report 2 May 2011 13:35

He has not been implicated in anything for about ten years now. Taking him out may not be as much of a result as we would like it to be.

It seems possible that one of his sons was also killed. But there will be somebody waiting to step into his shoes.

Trouble is I don't feel any safer, the war isn't over, the taliban hasn't crumbled and our boys are still out there.

What his death has done is to open the floodgates for revenge attacks and put the world back on high alert.

MissFitz Report 2 May 2011 09:25

I would not want to be him on his day of reckoning when he faces God.
I just hope there are no revenge attacks on America, just because he is dead it does not mean another leader will not take his place.

IF this is true then all I can say is thank God, but I am also very worried as who will now be in power and what will his followers be planning.

I will have to look at the TV news asap.
