How to get rid of avatars beside posts

I am in love with most of the changes here, but I detest avatars. They take up room, make most posts twice as long as they need to be so they make me scroll more, etc.

If you have Adblock in Firefox, right click on an avatar. Select Adblock.

In the "custom" line, put this:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/_resources/dynamic/thumb.ashx

That will block all avatars from showing at this site.

Adblock works to block any other useless, space-taking images on a page too, like all the banner ads across the top of this page.

edit

Oh right -- we have got one useless bit of html capacity that is making a hash of everybody's posts. We now can't post even unclickable links, because they turn into idiotfaces.

This is what you need to put in the Custom line to block avatars:

http : //www.genesreunited.co.uk/_resources/dynamic/thumb.ashx

but delete the spaces around the colon.

Okay, unbelievable. You can't end a line with a colon. So I shall end my lines with dashes --

One good thing though Janey is that you can instantly spot where you have added as you scroll down a thread when you have a nice bright avatar :)

It seems the idiotfaces don't interfere with the link function in Firefox 4.

This is how the link to this thread looks when put in a post --

Block it, right click, select open in new tab, it still works.

RR, I'm no egotist! And if you are ... I can't see it.

I have a red rose Janey lol, I have used it on other sites so just flipped it to here :) It is a bit of colour in a dull green world ;)

Okay, I've added one, just for everybody else's entertainment. I still can't see it!

Another thing I like -- I can tell by the colour of the "Send Message" button under your name that I've PMed you before.

This will help enormously in TTF threads where one doesn't remember finding half of "Ann's" family sometime in the past, and they greet you like an old friend and you have no clue who they are. ;)
