Well I can see the grey head above Member Since: Nov 2004 and Posts: 91. I dont know why you cant. Something weird happening.

ps, I see you cant see our pics either. Perhaps you should send a message to GR to ask why you have been deprived of the pleasure of seeing the pics and adding your own.

I think some people are still having problems. Keep looking and hopefully the 'head' will soon appear. :-) :-) When you click on the emoticons it will show in the reply box something like a colon a dash and a beacket (if I type it out it automatically converts to an emoticon. Now that is clever.

The "Head' is the grey picture that shows on the left of your thread on here, gardenpest29.

If I can put up an avatar, surely anybody can?

I managed at the 3rd try to attach an avatar (the picture on the left). It was not the one I originally chose and I gave up on the 3rd try, only to find when I went to a thread on which I have some threads, that the 3rd one had appeared.

In 'My account' there is the outline of a head and to the left, or just below to the left is something which I think says 'Change'. Click on that and upload (or is it download or sideways or stand-on-your-head load) the photo or picture of your choice. Highlight it and click on whatever it is outside the box. Sorry I am not more specific, I have forgotten. Then come onto one of your threads and see if it has appeared.

I hope I have not confused you even more. I cant see any emoticons to put here. Somebody said you need to be on Chrome or Firefox to get them :(((

Like you Libby I feel like a dinasaur now although I do know how to copy and paste thanks to my daughter's patience and I do like the changes somewhat and have added to my account details ie researching names

However what the heck is an avatar please Fiona. How do I attach an emoticon to a posting please...you seem to have that one sussed Libby. It doesn't seem to work for me when I click on one to attach...tried to attach the confused one now and it didn't work for me...doh!

I've never mastered the art of "copy and paste", but somehow I did manage to attach an avatar to my profile - just don't ask me how I did it! :S

This was the last site I felt safe! My ignorance is here for all to see, or not. lol. .

Hope it is not like "Copy and paste". Please do not show me. I have a total block and have been shown by the masters numerous times and have been termed a "numskull"..... polite expression. pmsl.

Apart from me being a dinosour, the site changes are for the better, GR seem to be listening to their members apart from "Living Relatives".... this needs re-tweeking re privacy info and replys etc
