I suggest you look on the Genealogy chat thread there are a number of threads listing how to search for Irish ancestors...just scroll down through the board.
Depending on the time frame you may find 1901 and 1911 Census for Ireland helpful ..free to use..
www.census.nationalarchives.ie
family search.com also has records on their site.
A lot depends on County/date/Rel. and what supporting info you have.
