Is there anyway of finding teacher registrations in the UK from about 1915 onwards?

Hi,
Find My Past has Teachers' Registration Council Registers 1914-1948.

If you are not subscribed to FMP let me know who you are looking for and I'll have a look.

Hi Karen
There are 3 Doris Smith's registered.
Here they are in index form

Year of 1st position Year of Registration
SMITH, Doris 1915 1920 (From Derngate, Northampton)
SMITH, Doris 1917 1926 ROBERTS (maiden name)
SMITH, Doris 1919 1931 (From Macclesfield, Cheshire)

-----------------------------------

SMITH, Jane 1908 1920
SMITH, Jane 1910 1920 DAVIES
SMITH, Jane 1912 1921 BAKER

I presume that Jane and Doris are 2 different people?
Do you know which schools in which County they taught at?
Then I would be able to get a better idea of the right people.

The records don't give date of birth or age.

Hi Jan,
Thank you for the information. Jane and Doris are the same person..We have her on some records as Jane Doris, and others as Doris Jane. I am not even sure she became a teacher. It was just something my mum said that made me think of looking down that avenue..Smith was her maiden name and to my knowledge she never married.

Thanks once again. :-)

Hi Karen
Do you want me to look again at the records, if you give me an area she may have worked at?
I've just sent you a pm, in case you don't come back to this thread.

Hi Jan.
I don't know much other than she was at the Princess Mary Villiage Homes in 1911 (see is 13 yrs of age on the census). I was thinking that since she didn't appear to have married she may have gone in to teaching. I'm guessing if this was the case it would have been in either Middlesex or Surrey.

I've just looked again, and there are no Jane Doris, or Doris Jane Smith's listed. Just Jane's or Doris without a middle name.

Sorry there are no Jane's or Doris Smith's teaching in Middlesex or Surrey.
